Assessment
OVERVIEW
A psychological assessment is typically requested by doctors or parents to measure the intellectual, emotional, learning, and behavioral functioning of their children.
This assessment can give you a valuable insight into your child potential.
Assessment
A psychological assessment is typically carried out over a few sessions.
- You will be asked to bring to the diagnostic intake appointment the results of the labs made recently or results of exams made by your doctors who recommended the assessment.
- The diagnostic intake is a one-hour session that takes place at the clinic to review your background and concerns.
- An appointment will then be scheduled for the assessment.
- The assessment is usually conducted in our clinic over a course of two to three days (a total of five to six hours), and may include cognitive, achievement and behavioral measures to assess IQ, learning ability, behavior and any disorders.
- Once all the data is collected, our psychologist will consult with another psychologist on our team to get a thorough picture of the assessment scores and results.
- The information will be synthesized and compiled in a comprehensive psychoeducational report, which we will discuss with you face-to-face in a feedback session lasting 30 minutes to one hour.
